Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs was to be a brawling game by Team Saber Rider, based on the 1987 American animated series of the same name. The latter was an American localization of the 1984 Japanese anime Star Musketeer Bismark.

Team Saber Rider obtained the license to develop the game both World Events Productions, the creators of Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, and Studio Pierrot, the creators of Star Musketeer Bismark.

Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs will be published by JoshProd in 2018.

The game was originally announced for release on the Nintendo 3DS on September 2, 2010 by a German studio named Firehazard.

By March 21, 2014, the Firehazard team disbanded, and the remaining team, including designers Chris Strauß and Bernd Geiblinger, re-formed under the Team Saber Rider name.

After a successful crowdfunding campaign through Kickstarter, in 2015, it was revealed that it was to be ported to other platforms including the Sega Dreamcast.

On October 1, 2015, Watermelon announced via their newsletter that they would be publishing Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs. Team Saber Rider announced that the publisher was changed to JoshProd on August 21, 2017, and that they also helped finance the rest of the game's development.

However, despite the financing of JoshProd, the team didn't make progress on the game, and JoshProd dropped the game as well. Since nothing has been revealed about the game since then, and Team Saber Rider stopped responding to questions on Kickstarter, this game is presumed to be canceled.
